Impartiality Statement

MHM is committed to ensuring that all certification activities are conducted with the highest level of impartiality, integrity, and objectivity.

Impartiality is fundamental to the credibility and trustworthiness of our certification services. All certification decisions are based solely on objective evidence of conformity and are made without influence from commercial, financial, or other pressures.

MHM operates in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements and has established processes to identify, assess, and manage risks to impartiality on an ongoing basis. This includes risks arising from relationships, personnel, and operational activities.

We recognize and actively manage potential threats to impartiality, including but not limited to:

  • self-interest threats

  • self-review threats

  • familiarity or relationship-based threats

  • intimidation threats

  • financial or commercial pressure

Where risks to impartiality are identified, appropriate safeguards are implemented to eliminate or reduce them to an acceptable level.

MHM maintains a clear separation between certification activities and any activities that could create a conflict of interest. Personnel involved in auditing or certification decision-making are prohibited from providing consultancy services for systems they may later assess.

Certification decisions are made independently and are subject to defined review and governance processes to ensure consistency, objectivity, and fairness.

An impartiality governance mechanism is maintained to oversee the effectiveness of MHM’s impartiality framework and to ensure that certification activities remain free from undue influence.

MHM is committed to the continual improvement of its impartiality management system in alignment with applicable ISO/IEC standards and accreditation requirements.

Any concerns relating to impartiality may be raised through our formal complaints process and will be reviewed and addressed without prejudice.
